Gilt flatworm thread no.4 - this is slightly thicker than the no.3 flatworm.
Flatworm is made up of a flattened metal strip wound around a fibre core and then lightly flattened so that the finished appearance is similar to plate but is more flexible and therefore easier to handle whilst stitching. It is couched down singularly or two strands at a time as a filling or outline.
To use, couch it down with a waxed sewing thread every 3-4mm. The ends will need to be 'plunged' (taken through) to the back and stitched back to secure them.
Handmade in the UK.
