RSN Stitch Bank:

The RSN Stitch Bank has been launched to mark the 150th anniversary of the RSN. It's aim is to digitally conserve and showcase the many and varied stitches in the world. Starting with an initial 150 stitches, with full diagrams and information on each stitch, this database will be continually added to. 

It's free to use this excellent resource and it's only

going to get better!

Stitchwork by Helen Jones:

Helen Jones is a Royal School of Needlework tutor, teaching a variety of classes both for the RSN and privately.  Based in London, she travels widely around the UK. Together with Liz Tapper, they run classes in Exeter under the title Stitching With Liz & Helen.

The Heritage Crafts Association:

The Heritage Crafts Association is the advocacy body for traditional heritage crafts. Working in partnership with Government and key agencies, it provides a focus for craftspeople, groups, societies and guilds, as well as individuals who care about the loss of traditional crafts skills, and works towards a healthy and sustainable framework for the future.

The Royal School of Needlework:

The International Centre of Excellence for the Art of Hand Embroidery since 1872.

The Somerset Guild of Craftsmen:

The Somerset Guild is one of the oldest Craft Guilds in the country and has been promoting excellence in craftsmanship and design since its inception. All our makers are skilled, dedicated craftsmen and women who have undergone a stringent selection process before becoming accepted as craft members.  To be a member of the Somerset Guild is the same mark of quality

today as it was in 1933.

West Country Embroiderers:

West Country Embroiderers was founded in 1973 originally with the aim of promoting and encouraging the skill of embroidery at all levels of ability. We have moved on from this and like to encompass all manner of textiles and needlecrafts.  WCE branches are groups of like-minded people from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire who get together each month to enjoy exploring, learning and experimenting with hand and machine embroidery, fibres and mixed media.
