A handmade lampshade designed and hand embroidered in the crewelwork technique. Crewel wool is used on a natural linen twill fabric to portray the beautiful swirling undulating design. The stylised leaves, petals, buds, flowers, stems and tiny snail are embroidered using traditional Jacobean crewelwork stitches. This is the Winter colourway.
Each lampshade is worked to order so please allow up to two weeks when ordering. Kits for the Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter lampshades are also available, as well as kits for the matching cushions. Please see my other listings under the Kits tab.
The lampshade can be used as either a ceiling or table lamp. Please advise when ordering, as it is not possible to change the orientation once made up.
An opaque base can be provided if made up as a ceiling lampshade to reduce glare. UK or US fitment available.
Each lampshade is 21cm high, 97 cm in circumference and 30cm in diameter.
It is recommended that this shade is used with a low energy bulb which, as well as being better for the environment, is also cooler to the touch minimising any risk of scorching. The lampshade kit materials have been tested and passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Association.
