A sweet little crewelwork leaf designed to start you off on this lovely technique. It is worked in shades of blue and cream.

Crewelwork is a beautiful technique using linen twill and fine crewel wool. Originating in the Jacobean period in England (the early 1600s), stylised flowers and animals were commonly embroidered onto bed curtains, bed linen and even jackets.

This kit comprises linen twill fabric, six skeins of crewel wool, a hand transferred design, full instructions with a detailed stitch guide, diagram and photos, and a chenille needle. All kept tidy in a neat little box.

If just purchasing the Instructions & Diagram, these will be sent to you via email and will comprise comprehensive instructions with images, stitch guide, diagram with key and full sized design. Please select Instructions Only at checkout for free 'delivery' by email.

You will learn some of the basic crewelwork stitches: block shading, trellis stitch, stem stitch, satin stitch, French knots, seeding, as well as a few others. This is an excellent grounding for then moving onto the next stage!

The finished embroidery measures 13cm high by 11.5cm wide.

Suitable for beginners, although any level of embroiderer will find this fun to work.
