The rounded ends and chamfered paddle end of this specialist laying tool make it a must for your goldwork projects. Use the pointed end for helping to turn corners. widening holes to plunge chunky threads and controlling the sewing thread and the flat end for laying and couching threads, adjusting curves and smoothing chips. Using a mellor also means you touch the metal thread less.

This tool can be used for other embroidery techniques, such as helping to control silk floss, as a laying tool. It has a gold finish and a hole at the end for attaching to a chatelaine or adding an identifier of your own.
